Julie Hairston, Director of Communications

Julie Hairston is a senior account executive with A. Brown-Olmstead Associates, an Atlanta public relations firm. Most of her clients are green economy companies or organizations, including EcoClassic Homes, the Georgia Environmental Conference, Weston Solutions and the Southeast Rainwater Harvesting Systems Association (SERHSA). She received her ABJ degree from the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Georgia. Before joining the ABOA staff in October 2008, she was a staff writer with the Atlanta Journal Constitution. She has been serving as the GSEA Communications Director since January 2011.


Norene Quinn, Operations Manager

Norene Quinn is an Atlanta native, who attended St. Pius X High and worked as the secretary in the Psychology Department at Georgia State University during college.  After having managed professional trade organizations for many years, Quinn founded Association Management Services (AMS) in 1982.  AMS provides services beyond the association web site to enhance the membership experience.  Quinn and a team of staff provide expert support from QuickBooks and financial support, registration and on-site event support to all the daily phone, email and website interaction with association leaders, members and potential members.  For over thirty years, AMS has enabled professional associations to enhance their image and expand their member services by providing a constant and professional point of contact.  Norene and her husband, Jerome, COO of SawHorse General Contractors for 25 years, reside in Candler Park and love in town living as much as mountain living in Cashiers, North Carolina, their home away from home.


Barton Hodges, Systems Administrator

Barton Hodges is an information technology specialist, with over 12 years experience supporting organizations in the Atlanta area. Through his company, Ambrosius Consulting, Barton offers professional and personalized IT services aimed at streamlining business processes, reducing costs, and increasing productivity in small to mid-size business environments.

Since 2006, he has worked with Norene Quinn and Association Management Services in order to provide technical expertise and strategic guidance to the Board of Directors of various Atlanta based professional associations. These associations have included Georgia Bio (GaBio), Financial Executives International (FEI), Georgia Association of Paralegals (GAP), Georgia Automotive Manufacturers Association (GAMA), and the Georgia Solar Energy Association (GSEA).

Barton is a graduate of Oglethorpe University with a dual BA in Psychology and Philosophy, and was recently awarded an MA, with merit, in Philosophy of Cognitive Science from the University of Sussex in Brigton, Sussex, U.K.
